MEETING TO DISCUSS CATHOLIC U DEVELOPMENT- Wed 6/18

Join Abdo Development and CUA at their first the public meeting to present the initial plan and vision for the nearly 9 acre development site in Brookland.

Toby Millman of Adbo Development describes the current ideas for the site:
"Our initial vision includes eclectic retail along Monroe Street, with residential above, that will help connect the University to Brookland's12th Street retail corridor. In addition, our plan includes an "ArtsWalk" with ground floor artist studio spaces. There are also significant new public spaces, including two large piazzas with fountains and cafe-style seating. Over the last few weeks, since our selection was publicly announced, we have been presenting and discussing this initial vision to ANCs and civic associations in the greater Brookland/Edgewood neighborhoods. This is the very beginning of what we expect will be a 12-18 month community process. "

All are welcome to attend the meeting.

Thanks to all of the members of the Greater Brookland Garden Club for putting together such a fantastic community event! 10 Brookland home owners opened their impressive homes and gardens up to the community on a perfect Sunday afternoon. The turnout was one of the highest the tour has seen over the past several years and was a huge success.
